The real tradeoff

One person with handgun protection, or a team with rifle-rated cover

At the same $7,500 investment, the choice is between arming a single officer with a lightweight handheld shield rated for handgun and shotgun threats, or putting a rolling, rifle-rated shield in front of an entire entry team.

The Minotaur IIIA+ is the better fit for everyday patrol — an officer can keep it in a vehicle, move fast on foot, and deploy against the handgun and shotgun threats most commonly encountered. The Falcon Shield is the better fit when the mission is a doorway breach or room clearing against rifle fire, where multiple officers need cover at once and one shielded person is not enough.

Both are legitimate tools. The numbers make the case: same price, two very different coverage profiles.
