What it is

A ballistic shield that rolls through a standard doorway

The Falcon Shield is a mobile, wheeled ballistic shield. It is sized to pass through a standard interior doorway and provides protection on three sides, so officers stay behind cover as they move into a room or down a corridor rather than exposing themselves at the threshold.

In school shootings, many deaths occur because responders cannot safely reach a wounded person in time to treat them. The Falcon Shield addresses that specific gap: officers advance behind rolling protection, reach the wounded sooner, and begin care in a space that is still contested.

One person can move it. It does not require carrying weight on an arm, so hands stay available for a weapon, a door, or a patient.

UL 752 · LEVEL 8

The Falcon Shield is rated at UL 752 Level 8 — the highest level on the UL 752 scale — and performs in the rifle threat range that NIJ Standard 0101.07 designates RF1 (the class that replaced the retired Roman-numeral Level III / III+ designations). HB33 Compliant

Texas House Bill 33

House Bill 33, the Uvalde Strong Act, requires every Texas school campus to have at least one ballistic shield and a breaching tool available for active-shooter response, effective for the 2025–2026 school year.

The Falcon Shield is offered as the ballistic shield component of that requirement. This is stated as a compliance fact: districts remain responsible for their own compliance plan, including breaching tools, storage, access, and training, and should verify requirements with their safety and legal counsel.

Districts have funded units through local donors and through state grant programs. See press & real-world deployment for a county-wide example and funding details.

Press & real-world deployment

Already in service across five Texas school districts

In February 2026 the Atascosa County School Safety Fund, in partnership with local school districts and law enforcement, donated a rolling Falcon Shield to five area districts — Jourdanton ISD, Pleasanton ISD, Poteet ISD, Charlotte ISD, and Lytle ISD. The units were funded entirely by local donor businesses.

Each shield was finished in that district's own mascot and colors — the Lytle Pirates, Poteet Aggies, Jourdanton Indians, Pleasanton Eagles, and Charlotte Trojans.

A live demonstration was held at Jourdanton ISD, led by Atascosa County Sheriff's Office Deputy Chief Eric Kaiser and attended by district superintendents and the Pleasanton Police Department. Reported by the Pleasanton Express and Hoodline.
